Green Interior Design Review and Giveaway

March 7, 2011  by Fifi Flowers

Today we will take a look at Green Interior Design by Lori Dennis...  Anddd YOU could be the LUCKY WINNER of this book that Lori has so kindly given us.  Just LEAVE A COMMENT and YOU will be ENTERED to WIN!!!

Lori Dennis’ desire to be part of the solution to waste and pollution in the interior design and construction fields led her to write this easy to use manual for anyone wishing to create green interiors. Every aspect of residential interior design–furniture and accessories, window treatments, fabrics, surface materials, appliances and plumbing fixtures, plants, and more–is discussed from a green perspective in terms of both avoiding pollution and protecting the occupants’ health. Green building criteria are elaborated and special focus is given to bedrooms where occupants spend most of their time and are most at risk. Landscaping and landscape maintenance are scrutinized from a green vantage point. The book concludes with interviews with a number of leading designers and architects who incorporate environmental and health concerns in their projects. Lori Dennis shares checklists (such as for green criteria) and sources for materials to help readers build successful, sustainable practices.

Lori Dennis is one of the nation’s top interior designers, focusing on each client’s needs knowing that every project is as unique as its owner.

Recently awarded the nation’s best green and modern design from ASID, Southern Accents, California Homes, Angeleno and Home Magazine, the firm sets itself apart from ordinary interior designers by implementing Green/Sustainable principles. This coupled with uniquely conceived designs, attention to detail and a relentless effort to meet budgets and deadlines makes our firm stand out in a sea of competitors.

Lori Dennis runs a full service office overseeing complete interior and exterior design and development in the residential, hospitality and commercial arenas. The firm will consider projects throughout the United States and internationally.

I think I got inspired to make a little reading area for myself instead of just plopping myself on my guest room bed!

Just came across your site and so cool to find this book! Not only doing my best to de-clutter, downsize (empty nester in the fall) but also do it all "green". Creating a new reading nook where the baby grand used to be. It's all a project in the works!
