Lydie and Michael McBride have been married for 8 years until an unthinkable tragedy strikes her family. As Michael watches the passion Lydie had once had for life and in their marriage slowly dissipate, he decides to take a year assignment in Paris to work on a special project at the Louvre hoping this assignment and getting her away from home will rekindle the love they once shared before the tragedy.
As Michael pursues his work at the Louvre, he becomes attracted to an alluring Frenchwoman who also works there. His attraction to her leads him into a spiraling affair that nearly destroys his marriage.
Lydie, finds new inspiration in her work as a photo and art stylist who scouts out props for various photo shoots.
She also finds friendship with two distinctly different women who help her find a new life but will there be a place for the man she always wanted to share that life with…
I found this book to be an easy and interesting read. It’s not hard to imagine living in Paris with all of its seductions creating just the right atmosphere for a love affair. Lydie manages to find the courage and strength to work her way through her husband’s discrepancy and also manages to deal with her own personal feelings about the tragedy she left behind.
If I had to rate this book it would be ***** stars out of 10, It was a pleasure to review this book for you Fifi. Thank you!
Happy Reading!

Oooh! great review. I'm certainly adding this to my ever-increasing reading list. I've been reading some quite heavy books lately, and this sounds like the perfect reprieve.I've just finished 'The Elegance of the Hedgehog' by Muriel Barbary. A really fab book, also based in Paris that will have you gasping for breath at the end. Worth a try.
I love LuAnne Rice and can't wait to read this.
Am reading this book now....LOVE it.
