Inspired by a Book

No Blogging Just Books...

After some problems with Blogger the other day, I got the following answer in my question to Blog Help, about it, by somebody called Martins :
Please be aware that there are some issues that are being looked at. As
it says in the Hitch-hikers Guide to the Galaxy: "Don't Panic!"

Well, not yet, any way! ;o)

I always appreciate a sence of humor so I decide to do something alse that day, while waiting. And of course what I did was...  Read Books!
and I also found this

That`s my "have read" list  ( out of the Guardian.uk  list)

- The Da Vinci Code, exciting buuuut…
- Wothering Hights, a classic but its a long time ago I read it
- The Name of THe Rose - Umberto Eco you are the Best!

- The Little Prince, my favorite now and for ever. Read it and Read it to your kids
( as a child I always fantasized I was the fox)
-Love in The Time of Cholera, anybody who can actually think of a better starting line than this one?
is was inevitable; the scent of bitter almont always reminded me the fate of unrequited love
-One Hundrend Years of  Solitude- huff! so many names…but a magical book nonetheless
-Siddhartha, I have really liked this book that made me read all Herman Hesse. My favorite of his books is Stephen Woolf. Worth a try
-Don Quixote, classic, we had to read it at school
- For Whom the Bell Tolls, love it . The Film too.
- The Unbeareble Lightnes of Being , I was so young when I read this one. So young. I should give it a second chance…
- Alice`s Andventures in Wonderland, now I want to read it to my kids
- Jane Eyre, I remember it was sad. Its such a long time ago I read it. Yes Indead I`ve got through a very romantic period in my life, when younger
- The Threee Mascetiars. I liked the film best!
- Sense and Sensibility, love it  love it love it . And the Movie ( every time!)

I believe the Guardian list misses books from Sheakspear and Ibsen. And where is The Great Gadsby?
And to be honest with you I really feel like reading
The Hitch-hikers Guide to the Galaxy!

What about you?
Which ones have you read? and which one do you thing should also be on the Guardian list?
And which one would you like to give it a try?"

Demi,

I have read many of the books listed on the Guardian list. Some a very long time ago and worth a definite re-read. One of my favorites was In The Name Of The Rose...I could read it again AND I loved reading James Michener's books. He was noted for his meticulous research behind his books...Chesapeake, Hawaii, and Tales of The South Pacific. All wonderful books.
